Haute Couture Shows for Fall 2011

I've been out of the loop lately, concentrating on other things, however, I couldn't miss all the Couture shows. I mean, come on. It's what I live for. So after I teared up at the Alexander McQueen show at The Met, I felt as if I wanted to make pieces that come from the heart. My head is filled with beadwork, silks, repurposed fabric, etc. Let's see what I come up with.

In the meantime, nymag.com has a few of the Haute Couture videos - Chanel, Elie Saab, Givenchy, Gaultier, Dior and Armani. Out of all the shows that I saw for Fall 2011, Armani is my favorite. It's only an opinion, but I feel inspiration is lacking for this season.

Christian Dior Ready To Wear 2011

Despite the controversial issues with Galliano's outward and inappropriate behavior, Christian Dior held its Fall 2011 RTW show today.

I think they did the right thing bringing out all the workers behind this collection at the end. It reminded me that the whole company isn't based on one messed (I actually wanted to use another word instead of messed up but decided against it) up person but it involves an entire group of dedicated, hard working people.
